The new Skoda Epiq is our first look at an affordable new small electric crossover SUV that’s due to officially go on sale in 2025.
Despite being compact on the outside, the new Skoda Epiq promises to be roomy on the inside, making it a great choice as a first family electric car.
The new Skoda Epiq will also have a decent battery range, and the firm is promising plenty of digital tech inside as well.
The new Skoda Epiq will go head-to-head with another upcoming affordable small electric car, the new Citroen e-C3. Other rivals include the Dacia Spring plus a new and more affordable version of the new Vauxhall Corsa Electric.
New 2025 Skoda Epiq price and release date
The new Skoda Epiq is shown here in concept form ahead of the full production car’s release in 2025.
The new Skoda Epiq will cost around €25,000, confirm bosses – this is a competitive £21,500, making it one of the cheapest electric cars on sale.
The new Dacia Spring currently holds the honour of being the cheapest new electric car of all, with prices starting from £14,995.
New 2025 Skoda Epiq styling
The new Skoda Epiq’s styling follows the firm’s new design language, known as ‘Modern Solid’. It aims to be powerful, functional and authentic, says head of design Oliver Stefani.
At the front, the new Skoda Epiq’s bonnet has ‘Skoda’ lettering proudly displayed. The Skoda grille has been reinterpreted as a ‘Tech-Deck Face’, incorporating the front camera and radar. There are T-shaped LED daytime running lights and indicators, with the LED headlights positioned lower down.
At the side, the new Skoda Epiq has a sweeping ‘tornado line’ that gives character to the profile, and wraps around the muscular rear shoulders. A sleek roofline merges into an aero roof spoiler, while the wheelarches are picked out with rugged trim.
At the rear, there’s more Skoda lettering along with Flashy Orange detailing on the rear bumper – this also features on the front bumper, wheels and roof rails.
Overall, the new Skoda Epiq measures 4.1 metres long, making it similar in size and profile to the Ford Puma, currently Britain’s best-selling car.
New 2025 Skoda Epiq interior
The new Skoda Epiq will be the first Skoda to follow the Modern Solid design theme. The focus will be on durability, practicality and the use of sustainable materials.
The new Skoda Epiq’s smart two-spoke steering wheel has distinctive Skoda lettering, and there are both physical buttons and haptic scroll wheels – detailed in Flashy Orange.
In the centre of the new Skoda Epiq’s dash is a freestanding touchscreen, and the floating centre console includes an open storage compartment and wireless smartphone charger. There are ingenious Simply Clever compartments throughout the cabin, too.
The new Skoda Epiq has seating for five, and an enormous 490-litre boot. This will also have lots of Simply Clever details such as bag hooks, cargo elements, fastening hooks and a hidden underfloor compartment.
New 2025 Skoda Epiq performance and range
The new Skoda Epiq is already confirmed to offer a generous battery range. Bosses say it will have an EV range of over 248 miles, which is a noteworthy 120 miles more than the Dacia Spring.
Full technical details will be released nearer to the new Skoda Epiq’s launch, but we can expect a compact and efficient electric motor giving ample city-friendly performance. It will have the muscle to handle trips at higher speeds too.
The new Skoda Epiq’s batteries will be mounted low down in the chassis, giving it a stable feel through corners. Its compact nature should also help deliver nimble handling, along with a smooth ride.
