Kia EV9 is UK Car of the Year 2024

The Kia EV9 has been named UK Car of the Year 2024, making it the third year in a row that an electric car has won the UK’s top motoring awards prize.

The bold and distinctive Kia EV9 also won the Large Crossover category in the 2024 awards, with judges praising its practicality, quality and styling.

Handing over the award to Kia UK president and CEO Paul Philpott, UK Car of the Year Awards co-chairman John Challen said: “The uberpractical Kia EV9 could be the vehicle that gets more drivers out of their petrol or diesel car than any other model.

“The fact that nearly half of our judging panel chose the Kia as the UK Car of the Year 2024 is a massive vote of confidence in what is a seriously impressive and hugely appealing car.”

Accepting the award, Kia’s Paul Philpott said: “It is a huge honour for Kia UK to be awarded a category win as well as the title of UK Car of the Year 2024 at this year’s UK Car of the Year Awards.

“The recognition is made all the more significant, having been judged by some of the UK’s most influential and respected journalists from across automotive, business and technology industries.”

There were seven finalists for the UK Car of the Year Awards 2024. All seven were eligible for the overall UK Car of the Year prize, which the Kia EV9 scooped.
