Used Nissan Juke for sale: everything you need to know

The Nissan Juke is a funky-looking, affordable small SUV that's been hugely popular over the years. Whether buying or leasing a new Nissan Juke or looking to purchase a used example, there's plenty of choice and keen pricing.

Designed as a more striking and practical alternative to a conventional small car, the latest Nissan Juke features bold looks, a classy cabin design, lots of standard equipment and a strong safety rating.

There are plenty of rivals to the Nissan Juke include the popular Ford Puma, the SEAT Arona and the Peugeot 2008. But the latest Nissan Juke beats most of them on affordability when buying new.

The latest, second generation Nissan Juke went on sale in 2019, meaning there are some used examples around coming out of short leasing deals from new. You can find some great deals for this model on heycar. The older Nissan Juke (2010-2019) isn't as practical, well-equipped or comfortable, but it is very cheap to buy and run.

Should you buy a Nissan Juke?

The first generation Nissan Juke primarily sold on its looks, as it didn't offer much of a space advantage over a regular small car. There were smooth petrol engines and efficient diesel engines, and there's loads around meaning it represents good value for money on the used market.

Nissan even offered a sporty Nismo version of the Nissan Juke. With 200PS it was basically a hot hatchback on stilts, but it wasn't as popular when new so it's harder to find a used version.

The second-generation Nissan Juke arrived in 2019 and offers a much more complete package than the first version. It's much bigger inside for passengers and luggage, it has lots more standard equipment, it's more comfortable and refined to drive and its noticeably safer.

That's not to say the latest Nissan Juke is the best car in its class, because there's some very talented competition. But if you're sold on its bold styling, you'll be pleased to know it's also now a much better car than it used to be.

Picking your ideal Nissan Juke for sale is easy because there's aren't too many engine choices in the later model. There are five trim levels, but all come with plenty of equipment, while there's the choice of a six-speed manual gearbox or a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic.

The latest Nissan Juke still sells on its quirky design, but it's also a significantly better car than it used to be. Buyers will be impressed by the standard equipment, the decent interior space and the quality feel of the cabin, while it remains an affordable and likeable buy whether you're shopping for a new model or looking for deals on a used model.

A Nissan Juke not for you? We've got 1000s of used cars for sale to suit all budgets and needs.

What’s the best used Nissan Juke model to buy?

If you're looking to buy a brand new Nissan Juke, the hybrid model will add a negligible amount to your monthly payments and is probably worth the extra for its slightly improved performance and better fuel economy. If you're looking at a used example, though, the 1.0-litre is fine – particularly around town.

In terms of trim level, we'd avoid the basic Nissan Juke Visia. It's worth hunting out a Nissan Juke Acenta for the eight-inch infotainment system (with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto) alone, as well as a handy rear-view camera and 17-inch alloy wheels. The Juke Tekna is the car for tech fans, with a Bose sound system and full suite of driver-assistance tech, while the top-of-the-range Tekna+ looks the fanciest with its two-tone paint and 19-inch alloy wheels.

Used Nissan Juke fuel economy and performance

While the original Nissan Juke was available with a range of different petrol engines and a diesel, thereare fewer on offer in the latest model:

  • Nissan Juke DIG-T 114: This is a 1.0-litre three-cylinder turbo petrol with 114PS and 200Nm of torque. That's enough for a 0-62mph time of 10.7 seconds (11.8 seconds with the DCT automatic) with fuel economy of 56.5mpg combined. Offered with a six-speed manual gearbox or dual-clutch automatic, it can also be had with two or four-wheel drive. Early Jukes, sold new before the end of 2020, have slightly more power at 117PS and a fraction less torque.
  • Nissan Juke Hybrid 143: The Juke's hybrid option uses a 1.6-litre petrol engine with 143PS and, when combined with its electric motor, 205Nm of torque (or 148Nm without it). That gives you a slightly perkier 0-62mph time of 10.1 seconds with fuel economy of 64.2mpg combined. It's available only with two-wheel drive and an automatic gearbox.

Older Nissan Jukes are available with a 1.6-litre petrol engine, a 1.2-litre DIG-T turbo petrol engine or a 1.5 dCI diesel.

What used Nissan Juke trims levels are available?

  • The Nissan Juke Visia is the entry-level trim, and is the most affordable to buy or lease but still offers all the essentials
  • The Nissan Juke Acenta is the cheaper model that most people choose because it offers valuable upgrades over Visia without breaking the bank.
  • The Nissan Juke N-Connecta is the mid-grade trim level, offering further equipment upgrades that make it more desirable in the used market.
  • The Nissan Juke Tekna is a higher-grade trim level with plenty of luxury equipment upgrades usually found on larger, more expensive models.
  • The Nissan Juke Tekna+ is the top of the range trim level, offering the luxury kit of Tekna but with extra exterior personalisation and sportier design details.

Used Nissan Juke dimensions and boot size

The Nissan Juke's exterior dimensions are:

  • Length: 4210mm
  • Width: 1800mm
  • Height: 1595mm
  • Ground clearance: 170mm

The Nissan Juke's boot size is 422 litres with the seats up and 1305 litres with the seats folded. Hybrid models have slightly less space because of the need to house electrical componentry in the back of the car, so those numbers drop to 354 litres seats up, and 1237 seats down.

Used Nissan Juke road tax

Depending on the model, the Nissan Juke will cost you between £200 and £255 in road tax for year one and £170 or £180 every year thereafter.

How much is to insure a Nissan Juke?

The latest Nissan Juke insurance groups range from 11 for lower-end models to 15 for the higher-end trim levels. It should be pretty cheap to insure.
