Facelifted 2024 Skoda Octavia revealed

The new Skoda Octavia is a facelifted version of the firm’s best-selling car with crisper styling and new tech.

The new Skoda Octavia has redesigned front and rear bumpers, plus redesigned headlights and a tweaked Skoda grille that now matches the height of the headlights.

Optional second-generation LED Matrix headlights are available. These have more functionality, including the ability to shield oncoming drivers when running on main beam.

There are full LED rear lights standard on all facelifted new Skoda Octavia. Higher-grade models have animated indicators. The new Skoda Octavia also has the new 2D Skoda logo and ‘Skoda’ lettering on the tailgate.

The large and roomy Skoda family car remains available as both a hatchback and an estate.

The new Skoda Octavia offers an updated range of alloy wheels, and there is choice of three solid and seven metallic colours. Hyper Green is exclusive to Sportline and vRS. Phoenix Orange is only available on the new Skoda Octavia estate.

Prices and a UK release date for the new Skoda Octavia will be announced later in the spring.

The new Skoda Octavia has a more high-tech interior with larger infotainment screens and plenty of colour and trim choices.

What is the new Skoda Octavia like inside?

The new Skoda Octavia offers an updated interior with improved infotainment and more customisation. There are nine so-called ‘Design Selections’, which use a greater amount of sustainable materials.

Even the famous Skoda ice scraper and umbrella are now made from recycled materials.

The new Skoda Octavia has a 10.0-inch infotainment display as standard, with a new 13.0-inch option. The system is easier to use and ChatGPT has been integrated into the Laura voice assistant.

All new Skoda Octavia have dual-zone Climatronic climate control, and there is an improved Phone Box with faster wireless charging plus, notably, a smartphone cooling function.

The new Skoda Octavia has, for the first time, automatic locking and unlocking when the driver leaves or enters an area within 1.5 metres of the car – while carrying the key, of course. The system is called Kessy.

The most powerful new Skoda Octavia is the vRS, now with 265PS.

What engines is the new Skoda Octavia available with?

The facelifted new Skoda Octavia is available from launch with a range of conventional petrol and diesel engines.

The entry-level engine is the 1.5 TSI, which produces 116PS. It’s available with a six-speed manual gearbox or a seven-speed DSG automatic – the latter coming with fuel-saving mHEV mild hybrid technology.

There is also a more powerful new Skoda Octavia 1.5 TSI 150, again in manual or DSG guise. The automatic version has mHEV tech as standard.

The most powerful new Skoda Octavia is the vRS, which has a 2.0 TSI 265, offering 20PS more power than before. It is combined with a standard DSG automatic.

The new Skoda Octavia has diesel engine choices too. The 2.0 TDI 116 has a manual gearbox and the 2.0 TDI 150 is a DSG auto.

Details of the new Skoda Octavia iV plug-in hybrid, along with revised performance and economy figures for the full range, will follow later.

The new Skoda Octavia is the latest in a historic model line dating back to 1959, and which was reborn in modern guise in 1996. Sold across more than 60 markets, total Skoda Octavia sales top seven million, making it the firm's most popular new car.

The new Skoda Octavia has several new safety assist features, including a driver attention and drowsiness monitor, plus enhanced park assist – which also now allows remote parking from a smartphone.

The new Skoda Octavia has four core trim levels, called SE Technology, SE L, Sportline and vRS. There are various different interior selections available too – for example, SE L buyers can choose from Loft, Lodge, Lounge, Suit Black and Suite Cognac interior themes.
