Prices and specs of 2025 Peugeot E-408 revealed

Peugeot has unveiled the all-electric version of its 408 saloon, with orders open now.

Promising a range of up to 281 miles on a full battery, the new Peugeot E-408 will be a rival for cars like the Tesla Model Y and Kia EV6. Prices start at £42,175, a rise of around £9000 over the standard Peugeot 408. 

The new Peugeot E-408 completes the French brand's fully electric line-up. Peugeot now has 12 all-electric vehicles available to the public – nine cars and three vans.

Order for the new 2025 Peugeot E-408 are open now, with prices starting at £42,175 for the Allure trim and £4,945 for the GT trim. Deliveries are expected to start in the summer of 2025.

The E-408's arrival means there's a full-electric version of every current Peugeot car.

Peugeot has kept faithful to the standard 408 with the all-electric version, with a fastback body shape, 19-inch alloy wheels as standard and, inside, Peugeot's iCockpit dashboard with a 10-inch digital instrument display and a touchscreen of the same size. There are touch-sensitive control toggles for jumping between features.

New 2025 Peugeot E-408: motors and batteries

The Peugeot E-408 comes with a 58kWh (useable) battery and a 210PS/345Nm electric motor, which promises a range of up to 281 miles on a single charge – an improvement on expectations thanks to a larger battery than the 54kWh unit found in the Peugeot E-308.

Rapid DC charging abilities mean battery recharging from 20% to 80% takes just over 30 minutes, while a quick top-up of 62 miles of range takes around 10 minutes.

New 2025 Peugeot E-408: trim levels

The E-408 comes with a choice of two trims: Allure and GT. Both are well-specced, as befits the starting price. The Allure features LED headlights, the full infotainment setup with navigation, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a heat pump. A heated steering wheel, heated front seats and a rear parking camera are all standard, as is dual-zone climate control .

GT trim offers a few upgrades, including matrix LED headlights that let you maintain high beam without dazzling oncoming traffic, LED tailllights, front parking sensors and a hands-free electric bootlid. It also includes the Drive Assist Plus pack, which offers some semi-autonomous driving capabilities.
