Dacia launches seven-year warranty for new and used cars

Dacia Zen is a new warranty package that offers owners up to seven years of cover.

The new Dacia Zen warranty is applicable to all Dacia models under six years old, with fewer than 75,000 miles on the clock.

It is complementary with every annual service at an official Dacia dealer – even if owners have previously had a service completed outside the Dacia retailer network.

All new Dacia cars come with a three-year, 60,000-mile warranty. Dacia Zen adds on another year’s cover each time they have an annual service, up to six years of age.

The warranty extension is for a year or, for those who are particularly ambitious high-mileage drivers, 18,000 miles.

Dacia Zen offers a level of potential that is near to that of a new car warranty, says the firm. “The reliability and durability of our vehicles is well documented, but Dacia Zen gives our customers even more reassurance,” said head of aftersales Steve Whitcombe.

“In the unlikely event of an issue, Dacia Zen means they won’t have to pay out for any repairs.”

Will Dacia Zen be offered on all cars up to six years old?

The key draw of Dacia Zen is that it is offered on used cars up to six years old, not just on brand-new models.

What’s more, if you already own a Dacia, you can still enjoy the benefits of Dacia Zen even if you have previously had your vehicle serviced outside the Dacia dealer network.

So long as it has been maintained to the official Dacia recommendations, and all servicing is fully documented, owners can activate Dacia Zen when their next service is completed by an official Dacia retailer.

Dacia Zen therefore means you can now buy a used model aged up to six years and get an extra year’s manufacturer-like warranty, simply by getting a fresh service at a Dacia dealer.

What are the longest new car warranties in the UK?

Kia has the longest new car warranty in the UK, with seven years or 100,000 miles of cover. MG offers seven years and 80,000 miles of warranty.

However, Toyota and Lexus now offer so-called service activated warranties, in a similar way to Dacia. If you get your Toyota or Lexus serviced at an official dealer, your cover will be extended by a year, up to 10 years or 100,000 miles.

Peugeot offers a service activated warranty up to eight years and 100,000 miles. Suzuki has a service activated warranty up to seven years ot 100,000 miles.

Service activated warranties are becoming increasingly popular in the UK and Dacia Zen is the latest to be launched here.
