Updated 2024 Skoda Fabia, Scala and Kamiq: Prices, specs and release date

Written By Phill Tromans

2024 Skoda Fabia Monte Carlo Edition

Skoda has given three of its small cars an overhaul, with a revised trim line-up boasting extra standard equipment.

The existing trims of the Skoda Fabia and Scala hatchbacks and the Skoda Kamiq SUV all get a revamp and a rebrand, with a small price rise that looks to be good value considering the amount of extra kit included.

To keep things simple (although possibly used buyers down the line), the new trims are simply the old trim names with the word Edition added. So the Fabia SE becomes the Fabia SE Edition, the Scala SE L becomes the Fabia SE L Edition, and so on.

Skoda will hope the extra features will keep the cars competitive against their rivals.

The Kamiq SUV is one of the models benefitting from the new trim levels

Updated 2024 Skoda Fabia, Scala and Kamiq: prices and release date

The new Edition models are open to order from 19 September 2024. Prices are up £150 over the outgoing trims, but considering the amount of new features on each car, that seems a small amount.

The Skoda Fabia range now starts with the SE Edition, priced from £19,880. The Design Edition is £20,680 and the SE L Edition is £22,615. The top-of-the-range Monte Carlo Edition costs from £23,115.

The Skoda Scala and the Skoda Kamiq both have the same trim levels, starting with the SE Edition (£3,255 for the Scala, £24,190 for the Kamiq). Then there's the SE L Edition (£24,055 Scala, £27,335 Kamiq) and the Monte Carlo Edition (£27,955 Scala, £29,435 Kamiq).

The mechanical side of the Scala is unchanged, but there are more feature included as standard.

Updated 2024 Skoda Fabia, Scala and Kamiq: trim levels

To understand the new trim levels on each car, you need simply look at the list for the previous models, add the word Edition to the name and then tack on a few extra bits of equipment.

The Fabia's range now starts with the SE Edition, which gains keyless start/stop, cruise control, dual-zone climate control and electric rear windows. The Design Edition replaces the Colour Edition, and adds front fog lights, metallic paint, electric folding door mirrors and dual-zone climate control.

The Fabia SE L is now the SE L Edition, and has a rear-view camera, cornering fog lights and electric folding door mirrors, while the top-spec Monte Carlo Edition gets all that, plus a 9.2-inch infotainment screen, full LED headlights, front parking sensors and a rear-view camera. Keyless entry is also included.

The upgrades for the Scala and the Kamiq are indentical. The entry-level trim is now the SE Edition, which has metallic paint, a rear view camera and two new screens – a 10.25-inch digital driver display (called Virtual Cockpit) in place of traditional dials, and the same 9.2-inch infotainment screen mentioned above. The SE L Edition has metallic paint, heated front seats, a rear-view camera and front parkling sensors, as well as keyless entry.

This isn't a facelift for the Skoda Kamiq – it had one of those earlier this year, along with the Scala. This is just a change to the trim range and the standard equipment.

Both the Skoda Scala and the Skoda Kamiq share much in common, but essentially the Scala is a hatchback while the Kamiq is a taller SUV.

Yes, a Skoda Fabia is comparable in size to a Ford Fiesta, while a Skoda Scala is closer in size to a Ford Focus.
