The Audi A3 is being facelifted for 2024 with a sportier design and clever new interior technology.
The new Audi A3 Sportback and Audi A3 Saloon both get a refreshed look, and the integrated Audi app store brings functions on demand to the infotainment system.
The new Audi A3 will initially be offered with 150PS 1.5-litre TFSI petrol and 2.0-litre TDI diesel engines. An updated Audi A3 plug-in hybrid will be added at the end of the year.
The new Audi A3 will open for ordering in April, with prices confirmed nearer to its on-sale date.
The changes to the new Audi A3 hatchback will help it better take on its direct rivals, the BMW 1 Series and Mercedes-Benz A-Class, along with the ever-popular Volkswagen Golf.
What’s different about the new Audi A3?
The new Audi A3 has a fresh front grille design. The Audi Singleframe grille on S line trim and above is now flatter and wider. The Audi logo is more prominent too, as are the large side air intakes.
At the rear, the new Audi A3 has a fresh bumper and diffuser design, giving it a sportier appearance (and one inspired by the super-fast Audi RS3).
The colour pictured here, District Green, is new, as is an alternative Progressive Red.
For the first time, the new Audi A3 has deadlights that offer a choice of four different daytime running light signatures.
The LED and Matrix LED headlights have 24 pixel elements that make up the digital daytime running lights, and allow owners to change the appearance of their car at any time.
Owners can also select from a range od coming home and leaving light signatures.
What has been updated inside the new Audi A3?
The new Audi A3’s interior has been significantly updated. There are revised designs for the air vents, decorative fabric inlays, gearshifter and even the interior lighting.
The new Audi A3 now has an adjustable centre armrest, and the flatter, more compact gearshifter integrates more neatly into the centre console.
The new Audi A3 has optional contour lighting with a choice of 30 different colours. It also offers a premium Sonos sound system.
The new Audi A3 has a 10.1-inch centre touchscreen and the Audi virtual cockpit. The MMI navigation plus system now includes access to an app store, so owners can install third-party apps in their new Audi A3.
Audi is also offering ‘functions on demand’. Customers can use the myAudi app to buy adaptive cruise control and high-beam assist. They can book it for one month, six months, a year, three years or permanently.
The new Audi A3 also includes enhanced safety assist technology as part of the optional Technology Pack.
The new Audi A3 Sportback is a five-door hatchback, while the new Audi A3 Saloon is a four-door model without a rear hatchback – it has a more traditional ‘three-box’ profile instead. Both versions are popular in the UK.
Prices for the new Audi A3 will be revealed in mid-April, when ordering opens. It is expected to be released in the UK this summer.
Both petrol and diesel engines will be available in the new Audi A3 at launch. A plug-in hybrid model, with an extended pure electric range, will follow by the end of the year.
