Find an Approved Used Alfa Romeo
Approved Used explained
What benefits are included?
If you're after a pre-registered or nearly new Alfa Romeo, it will be part of the SPOTiCAR programme which gives you a selection of benefits akin to buying a new car. Here we explain all.
Under the SPOTiCAR scheme all Approved Used Alfa Romeos come with a minimum of 12 months' warranty. SPOTiCar is the name used for the Stellantis-wide Approved Used scheme (including Peugeot, Citroen, Vauxhall, Fiat and DS, among others).
You don't get MOT cover with an Alfa Romeo Approved Used car.
All Approved Used Alfa Romeos come with a quality and mechanical inspection prior to sale. The comprehensive multi-point check has trained technicians check safety critical items, examine the bodywork for damage, check key mechanical components and make sure the car meets the relevant pollution standards.
Fiats on the approved used scheme have their mileage and identity verified, have no outstanding finance and have never been written-off. They're also checked to ensure any recalls have been carried out before the car's sold. If any of this proves to be incorrect, Alfa Romeo will replace the car within 30 days of purchase.
If there's a problem with your approved used Alfa Romeo that can't be resolved within 30 days after you have bought it, Alfa Romeo will swap the car for one of the same value.
You also get breakdown assistance which includes roadside cover, as well as recovery, at-home cover and onward travel.
If you're searching for a new-to-you Alfa Romeo, SPOTiCAR is a good place to start. There you can buy an Approved Used Alfa Romeo online without ever having to step foot in a showroom. You can have the car delivered or book a test drive at the showroom. Alfa Romeo on SPOTiCAR come with all the same benefits as an Approved Used car bought in person so you get a 12-month warranty, multi-point check and the rest.
If practicality is important then the Stelvio SUV is the pick of the Alfa Romeo range. It shares some of its mechanicals with the equally-impressive Giulia saloon, but the taller body means additional space for passengers and luggage whilst still providing a pleasing driving experience. The smaller MiTo and Giulietta hatchback are attractive to look at, but their older design means a driving experience that is adequate as well as less practical. At the top of the range Alfa Romeo offers sporty versions called Quadrofoglio, as well as the highly-focused (and expensive) 4C sports car.
Alfa Romeo has a close relationship with Ferrari (both were owned by parent company FCA until recently) and the high-performance Quadrofoglio versions of the Giulia and Stelvio use an engine that is derived from the Ferrari 488 GTB.

Alfa Romeo doesn't have the best reputation for reliability but its more recent cars have been a big improvement, although it still tends to languish close to the bottom of most reliability surveys. In the HonestJohn.co.uk Satisfaction Index 2020 the brand came 46th out of 58 makes for reliability.
According to our sister site, HonestJohn.co.uk, the most reliable Alfa Romeo model is the Giulietta with a reliability rating of 9.41 out of 10.
Alfa Romeo has long been seen as an exotic and sporting brand, but not quite a luxury one. However, it is certainly producing some high quality cars such as the Stelvio, although we'd say the quality of the interior falls some way short of the luxury brands.
Approved Used car schemes are one of the best ways of getting your hands on a second hand car without having to worry about condition and mechanical reliability.
