Inside, all models now get a new 12.3-inch curved infotainment screen, with a 10-inch head-up display also available. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are included, and there's the ability to add arcade games, YouTube and other video streaming services to the system. Another feature, called Kia In-Car Payments, lets drivers pay for on-street parking straight from their car. As stantard, the Sportage gets a USB-C port in the front to connect a media device, and another that's just for charging.

There are minor tweaks to the dashboard design with repositioned air vents. A new steering wheel has been introduced, taken from the EV3.

The boot is a decent size, with up to 587 litres of capacity, expandable to 1776 litres with the back seats folded down, which they do in a 40:20:40 split across the range. The hybrid model gets a movable boot floor for extra flexibility. The petrol model's boot capacity is slightly smaller at 562 litres (1751 litres with the back seats down).

No fuel-economy or performance figures have yet been announced.
