Volvo gives us the sneakiest peak of the new EX60

2026 Volvo EX60 teaser

Under the covers of the picture above is the forthcoming Volvo EX60.

Well, sort of. It's actually a clay model of the new all-electric equivalent of the XC60 SUV, and was shown for a brief second in a promotional film for the new ES90 saloon. It shows some rear lights of different design to other electric SUVs from Volvo, and... well, that's about it for now.

Due to arrive in 2026, the EX60 will fit between the larger EX90 and smaller EX30, very much mirroring the combustion-engined SUV range from Volvo. The EX60 will use new mechanical underpinnings, called the SPA3 platform. However, we expect it to share some tech with the ES90, such as the 800V fast-charging tech that should allow customers to top up the battery at speeds of up to 350kW. A battery range approaching 400 miles seems likely.

Rivals for the EX60 will include the Audi Q6 E-tron, the BMW iX3, the Porsche Macan Electric and the Tesla Model Y.

New 2026 Volvo EX60: price and release date

Details about the new Volvo EX60 are thin on the ground for now, but we'd expect to see it next year, priced competively against its rivals, which suggests a starting price of around £60,000.
