2026 Subaru Solterra

Subaru has confirmed that the facelifted version of the Solterra will arrive at the start of 2026.

The facelifted Solterra gets radical new looks, more efficiency and more performance thanks to a new powertrain and a 73.1kWh battery. The new Solterra promises up to 310 miles on a single charge and puts out 344PS.

Subaru will hope that the revisions to the Solterra will keep it competitive against some strong mid-size competition, including the Ford Mustang Mach-E, the Hyundai Ioniq 5, the Tesla Model Y and the Kia EV6

Updated 2026 Subaru Solterra: price and release date

No UK prices or specs have been announced for either car as yet, but we do know that the Solterra will arrive here in early 2026. A small price rise over the current car seems likely, which would put it somewhere around £54,000.

The Solterra has been heavily revised with a new look and a new powertrain.

New 2026 Solterra: exterior and interior

The updated Subaru Solterra shares the new front-end look with the new Subaru E-Outback, which means redesigned headlights, a new front bumper and new wheels – 18 or 20 inches in size depending on spec.

Inside is a 14-inch touchscreen, which is the largest found in any Subaru to date and includes Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Standard features include wireless 15W phone chargers for both driver and passenger, and high-powered USB-C charge points to keep other devices topped up.

The Solterra also gets Subaru's EyeSight suite of safety systems, which includes automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring and adaptive cruise control.

New 2026 Subaru Solterra: motor and batteries

The new Solterra is powered by a 73.1kWh battery pack, which gives a range of more than 310miles. With dual motors driving all four wheels, and 344PS in the Solterra, drivers will be able to hit 62mph from standstill in just 5.1 seconds.

The Solterra will fast-charge from 10% to 80% in 30 minutes with a suitable charger. A 22kW on-board charger will be available as an option.
