Audi has revealed the new 2025 A6 Saloon, with a sleek look and a range of petrol and diesel engines.
Hot on the heels of the A6 Avant estate version, the A6 Saloon showcases a new streamlined look with an impressively low drag coefficient to improve fuel economy. The interior tech is the latest Audi has to offer.
It'll come with petrol or diesel power to start with, but plug-in hybrids will follow, as will high-performance S6 and RS 6 versions. There won't be any electric versions, however, as the Audi A6 e-tron already has that part of the market covered.
The new car will renew Audi's rivalry with the likes of the BMW 5 Series and the Mercedes-Benz E-Class.
New 2025 Audi A6 Saloon: price and release date
The new Audi A6 Saloon goes on sale from 13 May 2025 with the first deliveries expected at the start of July. Price start at £50,560 for the petrol-powered TFSI model in Sport trim, rising to £53,360 for the mid-spec S line trim. The top-spec TFSI Edition 1 costs from £58,260.
If you'd rather have your new A6 Saloon with diesel power, the line-up starts at £54,830 for the Sport, £57,630 for the S line and £62,530 for the Edition 1.

New 2025 Audi A6 Saloon: exterior and interior
Aerodynamics are a big headline in the new A6 Saloon. Audi says it's shaved the drag coefficient down to 0.23 Cd, which is up there with the smoothest electric cars around and should improve fuel economy considerably.
The resultant look is, as you'd expect, sleek, with thin LED headlights and a large grille. Protruding wheel arches over alloys between 18 and 21 inches give a muscular look, and there's the now-ubiquitous full-width lightbar at the back, underlining the same taillights found on the A6 Avant. Higher-spec versions get OLED technology and configurable graphics on the back lights.
Size-wise, the new A6 Saloon is 60mm longer than its predecessors at 4990mm, and is 1880mm wide without mirrors.
There are 10 paint colours to choose from. Arkona White has a solid finish, while there's a variety of metallic paints: Glacier White, Mythos Black, Grenadine Red, Florett Silver, Firmament Blue, Ascari Blue, Chronos Grey and Midnight Green. The sole pearlescent option is Daytona Grey.
Inside, the cabin is the same as in the Avant, with a huge curved infotainment setup combining a digital driver display and a big 14.5-inch touchscreen. Top-spec models get an optional 10.9-inch passenger screen, too. While most of the controls are touch-sensitive, there is a physical volume dial. A head-up display is available as an option, with an 85% larger visible area and extra functions over previous versions.
Also optional is a panoramic smart glass roof that runs the whole length of the car, with a "digital curtain" – six segments that can be switched on and off to cut down the glare.
The boot is generous at up to 492 litres, although that can vary by version. The back seats fold in a 40:20:40 split to expand the luggage space.

New 2025 Audi A6 Saloon: engines and gearboxes
Initially, you'll be able to order your new Audi A6 Saloon with a petrol or diesel engine. The front-wheel-drive petrol model, badged TFSI, has 204PS and 360Nm and can go from standstill to 62mph in 8.2 seconds.
The diesel A6 Saloon has quattro four-wheel drive, and also makes 204PS but boosts the torque to 400Nm. The diesel version has mild-hybrid tecj, with a 48-volt electrical system that takes strain off the engine and, Audi says, increases responsiveness and agility.
Both versions are fitted with a seven-speed, S tronic dual-clutch automatic gearbox. Plug-in hybrid powertrains will be announced at a later date, as will high-performance S6 and RS 6 versions.

New 2025 Audi A6 Saloon: trim levels
Like the A6 Avant, the A6 Saloon will initialy feature three trim levels – Sport, S line and Edition 1.
The Sport trim features five-spoke, 18-inch wheels, matrix LED headlights, and standard suspension, as well as aluminium roof rails. Inside, the seats are clad in twin leather upholstery and there's a 10-speaker sound system, as well as four-zone air conditioning.
The S line trim adds 19-inch alloy wheels and Sport suspension, which is 20mm lower and is designed to enhance the A6's handling. The bodywork has a more dynamic look, while inside there are more supportive sports seats, matt aluminium inlays and stainless steel pedals, as well as a flat-bottomed steering wheel.
The top-spec Edition 1 model has 20-inch wheels and black exterior styling elements, including the roof rails, with red brake callipers. The seats are upholstered in leather and Dinamica microfibre.
