The new Vauxhall Corsa Hybrid sees the popular small car offer a fuel-saving hybrid version for the first time ever.
Using clever 48V hybrid technology, the new Vauxhall Corsa Hybrid promises better fuel economy and lower emissions than regular petrol-powered Vauxhall Corsa – for prices that are still accessible and affordable.
The new Vauxhall Corsa Hybrid aims to be a stepping stone between the regular Vauxhall Corsa and the new Vauxhall Corsa Electric, a popular small electric car.
The new Vauxhall Corsa Hybrid will challenge another competitive small hybrid rival, the Renault Clio E-Tech Hybrid. Other small cars using hybrid tech include the Toyota Yaris, Honda Jazz and the Mazda 2 Hybrid. There is a 48V mild hybrid version of the Hyundai i20 too.

New 2024 Vauxhall Corsa Hybrid: exterior and interior
The new Vauxhall Corsa Hybrid has the same smart appearance as other facelifted new Vauxhall Corsa. At the front, it has a more modern look courtesy of the Vauxhall ‘Vizor’ front grille, while the standard LED headlights are more angular.
There are stylish new alloy wheel choices, and the new Vauxhall Corsa Hybrid GS has a sporty contrast black roof and A-pillars, plus black Vauxhall logo and 17-inch diamond-cut black alloy wheels.
At the rear, the new Vauxhall Corsa Hybrid now has ‘CORSA’ lettering on the bootlid. The red tinted LED lights are more stylish too – with GS and Ultimate models featuring LED rear lights
The highlight inside the new Vauxhall Corsa Hybrid is an improved 10.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system. This has standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and the refreshed software means it runs more quickly. The new Vauxhall Corsa also has standard rear parking sensors.
New Vauxhall Corsa Hybrid GS models add the sporty styling pack plus a rear view camera. Range-topping new Vauxhall Corsa Hybrid Ultimate models include ultra-bright IntelliLux adaptive LED matrix headlights, heated seats and steering wheel, plus keyless entry and start.
New 2024 Vauxhall Corsa Hybrid: engines and performance
The new Vauxhall Corsa Hybrid uses a 1.2-litre three-cylinder petrol turbo engine. This has been fully optimised to pair with hybrid technology, which consists of a ‘self-charging’ lithium ion battery and 28PS electric motor.
The new Vauxhall Corsa Hybrid comes as standard with a six-speed DCT automatic gearbox, into which the electric motor is cleverly integrated. This means the engine and electric motor operate seamlessly, with the engine automatically switching on and off.
The new Vauxhall Corsa Hybrid can be driven for short distances on electric power alone, at speeds of under 18mph. The electric motor also assists the engine under acceleration, and allows the engine to shut down when decelerating, to save fuel.
With 28Nm of torque, or pulling power, the electric motor in the new Vauxhall Corsa Hybrid will help make it feel more powerful and responsive when the accelerator pedal is pressed – without using extra fuel.
The new Vauxhall Corsa Hybrid is available in either 100PS or 136PS guise. Compared to a Vauxhall Corsa with a regular automatic gearbox, the new Vauxhall Corsa Hybrid is an impressive 20% more economical, with similar improvements in CO2 emissions.
The new Vauxhall Corsa Hybrid 1.2T 100 can average up to 62.8mpg, and emits from 102g/km. This is notably more fuel-efficient than the regular Vauxhall Corsa 1.2T 100 with a manual gearbox, which averages from 52.3mpg.
The new Vauxhall Corsa Hybrid 1.2T 136 averages from 61.4mpg, with CO2 emissions from 104g/km. That’s around 10mpg better than a Vauxhall Corsa with an automatic gearbox.

The Renault Clio is a top-selling alternative to the Vauxhall Corsa. A few years ago, the range was extended with a hybrid version called E-Tech Hybrid. Prices for the first models from 2020 now start from around £15,000, making a used Renault Clio great value for money. Expect to see around 20,000 miles on the clock.

The electric motor fitted to the new Vauxhall Corsa Hybrid produces 28PS. It also has a useful 55Nm of torque, or pulling power – and as this is delivered instantly, it makes the new Vauxhall Corsa Hybrid feel more responsive.
The new Vauxhall Corsa Hybrid has a simplified range of trims – choose from Design, GS and Ultimate. There is also a choice of two engines, either 100PS or 136PS.
