Kia has revealed full details of the PV5, an electric van designed for both passenger and commercial use.
Set to be available in three different body styles – passenger, cargo, and chassis cab – the PV5 is big on flexibility, Kia says. That means that various versions of the PV5 can be created relatively easily, thanks to its modular construction. That's good news for customers that need wheelchair-accessible versions, campers or various types of commercial vehicles.
Likely rivals for the PV5 include the Volkswagen ID.Buzz.
New 2025 Kia PV5: price and release date
The Kia PV5 is set to launch in Korea and Europe in the second half of 2025, with other markets to follow in 2026. While official pricing details have not been released, the PV5 is expected to be competitively positioned compared to other electric vans, which could make it a compelling option.

New 2025 Kia PV5: exterior and interior
As with other Kias of late the PV5 has a futuristic looks mixed with practical boxiness. There's a distinctive front fascia with a sharp daytime running light signature and separate headlamps integrated into the lower bumper. Both Passenger and Cargo versions sport rugged cladding along the lower bumper, sills, and wheel arches, giving it a robust look. Sliding side doors are standard, with the Passenger model featuring a single-piece tailgate hinged from the roof, while the Cargo variant includes split rear doors. Tall rear light clusters complete the exterior design.
Inside, the PV5 promises a spacious and versatile cabin. The Passenger model boasts a three-row seating arrangement that can be reconfigured to accommodate luggage or camping equipment, with features like fold-and-dive seating and a lift-up boot lid to enhance usability. The Cargo model provides a maximum load capacity of 5.1 cubic metres, which is capable of accommodating up to two Euro pallets. High-roof versions offer additional storage space, and an optional walk-through layout provides access between the cabin and cargo area. The interior is equipped with a modular dashboard and various storage solutions, which should cater to both commercial operators and private customers. Vehicle-to-load (V2L) tech is included, letting you plug in external devices through a socket powered by the car's battery.

New 2025 Kia PV5: motors and batteries
The Kia PV5 offers multiple battery options: 51.5kWh and 71.2kWh for all versions, with an additional 43.3kWh battery that's exclusive to the Cargo variant. All models are powered by a front-mounted 163PS electric motor with 250Nm of torque. Depending on the battery configuration, the PV5 can achieve a range of up to 249 miles on a single charge. Fast-charging capabilities should give you a 10% to 80% battery charge in 30 minutes.
