KGM – formerly SsangYong – has opened order for new coupe-SUV called the Actyon.
The new South Korean car revives the badge formerly seen on an SUV launched way back in 2005. It's a mid-size SUV with coupe-inspired styling that will take on cars like the Nissan Qashqai, Kia Sportage and more. It bears more than a passing resemblance to KGM's Torres, which is unsurprising as it shares a lot of the smaller car's engineering. While the Torres gets both petrol and electric power, with a hybrid planned soon, too, the Actyon gets only a 1.5-litre petrol engine with a six-speed automatic gearbox.
The Actyon promises lots of space and features for the price, with a single trim level – called K50 – to keep things simple. It comes wiyth a five-year, 100,000-mile warranty
New 2025 KGM Actyon: price and release date
The new KGM Actyon is on sale now, priced from £36,995.
New 2025 KGM Actyon: exterior and interior
KGM describes the new Actyon's looks as "a stylish companion for the modern urban explorer, with a sleek coupe-style design". It's certainly modern-looking, although we can't help seeing more than a hint of Range Rover in its looks. It rides on 20-inch alloy wheels and comes with a choice of five paint colours – Grand White is standard, while Space Black, Dandy Blue, Forest Green and Iron Silver are £650 options. Front and rear parking sensors, LED lights and black roof rails are standard.
The new Actyon measures 4740 in length, 1910mm wide including mirrors and is 1670mm high. That makes it slightly larger than the Qashqai in all areas. The 668-litre boot is large, although it's actually smaller than the more KGM Torres, even though the sister car is smaller overall.
Inside, the dashboard is dominated by a 12.3-inch infotainment screen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, as well as six speakers and USB charge points front and rear. The front seats are heated and ventilated and adjustable electrically, and the steering wheel is heated, too.
New 2025 KGM Actyon: engines and gearboxes
Just one powertrain is available for the KGM Actyon – a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine with 163PS and 280Nm of torque, paired with a six-speed automatic gearbox, which makes for a leisurely 0-62mph time of 10.8 seconds.
