The latest car from Chinese brand Jaecoo will hit the UK this week.
The Jaecoo 5 SUV, although available as an electric vehicle (EV) in other parts of the world, will be petrol powered when it's unveiled for the first time to UK audiences at this weekend's Goodwood Festival of Speed.
Touted as a potential rival for the likes of the Range Rover Evoque, the Jaecoo 5 will be available in two trim levels, powered by a 1.6-litre turbocharged petrol engine. Jaecoo promises a generous level of features included, although we'll have to wait to see the full spec sheet. For now, we know that the Pure trim will have halogen headlights and six-speaker Sony sound system, while the Luxury trim will upgrade to a panoramic roof, eight-speaker sound system and wireless phone charging, with six-way power adjustable seats with heating and ventilation for front-seat occupants. A seven-year, 100,000-mile warranty from new is also likely to turn heads.
The Jaecoo 5 will be the second car from the Chinese brand since it launched in the UK at the start of 2025. You can read more about the larger Jaecoo 7 in our review.
New 2025 Jaecoo: price and release date
The Jaecoo 5 will be revealed at this weekend's Goodwood Festival of Speed and the first customer deliveries will be later in 2025. No price has yet been announced, but more information, including full UK specs, will be coming soon.

New 2025 Jaecoo 5: exterior and interior
The new Jaecoo 5 will share the same mechanical underpinnings (the T1X platform) as its larger stablemate, as well several cars from sister brand Omoda – both are owned by the Chery group. Its visuals are very similar to the Jaecoo 7, but... well, smaller, and with a sleeker line very reminiscent of the Range Rover look.
Inside, there's an sizable infotainment screen, with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a driver display behind the steering wheel, but we'll have to wait until the full reveal to see more.

New 2025 Jaecoo 5: engines and gearboxes
While an electric version of the Jaecoo 5 was revealed in China, the UK will get a petrol-powered version – for now, at least. While full details haven't been released, it's a 1.6-litre turbocharged unit, which could be similar to that found in the Omoda 5 with 190PS and a seven-speed automatic gearbox.
