The changes encompass electric drivetrain upgrades, new engines and new standard and optional equipment across the German brand's portfolio of cars. We don't yet know which of the cars announced today will come to the UK.
Updated 2025 BMW i5 and i5 Touring: battery range
The upgrades to the BMW i5 and the i5 Touring estate focus on new electronics and efficiency. Thanks to some new components and low-rolling-resistance tyres, there's up to 29 miles of additional range on both models. In addition, the BMW i5 M60 xDrive now comes as standard with the M Sport Pro package, which includes various styling upgrades like an illuminated grille and black exterior highlight.
For those looking at a regular, non-electric 5 Series, all models now get ambient lighting, lumbar support for the front seats and a Harman Kardon sound system.

Two new models have been added to the BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe lineup. There's no news yet on whether they'll make it to UK shores.

From May, the BMW X3 will be made with a new six-cylinder diesel engine, which could be great looking for decent performance while keeping reasonable fuel economy on long journeys. Called the X3 40d, it'll have 303PS and 670Nm of torque, as well as a mild-hybrid system. The 0-62mph time is 5.4 seconds.

New 2025 BMW plug-in hybrids: faster charging
Charging efficiency is set to improve for BMW’s plug-in hybrid models, including the BMW X1, the BMW 2 Series Active Tourer, the BMW 7 Series, and all BMW XM variants. From March 2025, these models will feature an increased AC charging rate of 11kW (up from 7.4kW), which should significantly reducing charging times for everyday use.
Updated 2025 BMW X5, X6 and X7: standard equipment
Standard equipment across the BMW SUV range is being enhanced. The BMW X5 and X6 will now come with adaptive matrix LED headlights, while the BMW X7 gains Parking Assistant Professional as standard.
