New 2025 Polestar 3 Long range Single motor: price, specs and release date
Written By Phill Tromans
Polestar has introduced a new version of its Polestar 3 electric SUV. The Long range Single Motor model (their capital letters, not ours), extends the appeal of the Polestar 3 as it takes on an increasing number of very decent rivals.
The Polestar 3 Long range Single motor makes a new entry point, with a starting price of £69,900. It uses the same 111kWh battery pack as the existing Dual Motor version of the car, but by taking a motor away increases the efficiency and therefore the range, which is up to 403 miles according to official figures.
The Polestar 3 is a rival for other luxurious electric SUVs, such as the BMW iX, the Mercedes-Benz EQE SUV and the Audi Q8 e-tron.

The changes to the new version of the Polestar 3 are solely under the surface, so there’s no difference in the way it looks, either inside or out. It maintains a stylish, understated exterior and a minimalist interior with a large infotainment system screen dominating the dashboard
As with other models, buyers can choose from six exterior colours and four alloy wheel designs, as well as various upgrade packs and options, including tinted rear glass and upgraded headlights.
New 2025 Polestar 3 Long range Single motor: electric motor and battery
The Long range Single motor version of the Polestar 3 uses a 400V, 111kWh battery attached to a single electric motor producing 299PS and 490Nm of torque. That translates to a 7.5-second 0-62mph time, which is leisurely compared to the rest of the range; the Long range Dual motor model managed 4.8 seconds with its 489PS output.
Thanks to its focus on efficiency over performance, the new model promises up to 403 miles on a single battery charge according to official tests. In comparison, the Long range Dual motor model can manage up to 392 miles, or 348 miles if fitted with Polestar’s Performance Pack.
The battery can charge at up to 250kW with a suitable DC charging point, meaning a 10%-80% top-up time of 30 minutes.
Towing capacity on the new model is down to 1500kg from 2200kg on the other models in the range.
