Skoda Fabia and Karoq updated for 2024: first details and prices

The Skoda Fabia and Skoda Karoq have been updated for 2024 with improved levels of standard equipment and more powerful engines.

The updated Skoda Fabia and Skoda Karoq are open for ordering now. Prices for the new Skoda Fabia start from £19,730, and prices for the new Skoda Karoq start from £28,380.

The Skoda Fabia is a great value supermini small car alternative to a Volkswagen Polo, Vauxhall Corsa, Renault Clio, Dacia Sandero and the sadly-missed Ford Fiesta.

The Skoda Karoq is a family SUV alternative to a Nissan Qashqai, Volkswagen T-Roc, Renault Arkana, Ford Kuga and Kia Sportage.

How has the new Skoda Fabia been updated?

All new Skoda Fabia models get a specification boost for 2024. The simplified line-up of SE Comfort, Colour Edition, SE L and Monte Carlo all feature traffic sign recognition, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and a three-year subscription to Skoda Care Connect.

The digital display in new Skoda Fabia SE Comfort grows to 8.0 inches, complementing the 8.25-inch centre touchscreen. A front centre armrest and textile floor mats are now standard.

The new Skoda Fabia Colour Edition gains cruise control, rear electric windows and rear LED lighting, while SE L have a 10.25-inch Virtual Cockpit digital display, rear LED lights, rear privacy glass and a hill hold function.

The new Skoda Fabia Monte Carlo gains upgraded interior inserts and lumbar support for the front seats.

The new Skoda Fabia is also available with a new 1.0 TSI EVO2 petrol engine. This produces 116PS, up from the old engine’s 110PS, and has either a standard six-speed manual gearbox or an optional seven-speed DSG automatic.

How has the new Skoda Karoq been updated?

The new Skoda Karoq has three trim grades, called SE Drive, SE L and SportLine. For 2024, they all get improved driver-assist safety tech with standard lane-keep assist, a driver attention monitor, traffic sign recognition, power-operated child locks and a three-year Infotainment Online subscription. Interestingly, tow bar preparation is now standard too.

New Skoda Karoq SE Drive have wireless smartphone charging and a 10.25-inch Virtual Cockpit, while SE L feature upgrade 18-inch Procyon silver alloy wheels with anthracite aero inserts. SportLine gets tablet holders and ISOFIX on the front passenger seat.

The new Skoda Karoq also gets new rear badging, that features the new Skoda corporate identity.

The new Skoda Karoq features the new 1.0-litre TSI EVO2 engine too, which lines up alongside the 1.5 TSI 150, 2.0 TSI 190 and 2.0 TDI 150. Both the 2.0-litre engines have 4x4 and a seven-speed DSG automatic gearbox as standard.

The new Skoda Fabia and new Skoda Karoq have a choice of four interior colour and trim options, called Loft, Lounge, Suite and Eco Suite. They have a “subtly different look” and give owners the ability to better tailor their new Skoda.

New Skoda Fabia prices start from £19,730 for the 1.0 MPI SE Comfort. New Skoda Fabia Colour Edition start from £20,530, SE L is from £22,465 and Monte Carlo is from £22,965.

New Skoda Karoq prices start from £28,380 for the 1.0 TSI SE Drive. The new Skoda Karoq SE L is from £30,215 and SportLine is from £35,130.
