The move to EV for the new Peugeot e-3008 is part of the company’s plan for 100% of its sales to be electric cars by 2030. And to go with its new EV powertrain, the new Peugeot e-3008 also gets a futuristic new look that combines SUV practicality with sleek fastback style.
Other new Peugeot e-3008 headlines include a super-long EV range of up to 435 miles, and a distinctive new interpretation of the firm’s well-liked ‘i-Cockpit’ interior layout.
The new Peugeot e-3008 will take on electric SUVs such as the Skoda Enyaq iV, Volkswagen ID.4, Nissan Ariya, Hyundai Ioniq 5 and Kia EV6, while the new Renault Scenic E-Tech Electric is an all-new family-focused rival to the new Peugeot e-3008.
Bosses boldly say the launch of the new Peugeot e-3008 is “a major step in Peugeot’s radical transformation into an alluring 100% electric brand that sets new benchmarks for design, driving pleasure and efficiency.
New 2024 Peugeot e-3008 price and release date
The new Peugeot e-3008 has been fully revealed ahead of its expected UK roll-out in spring 2024. A larger new Peugeot e-5008, probably with seven seats, is likely to follow later.
The new Peugeot e-3008 will be more expensive than today’s petrol-powered Peugeot 3008 line-up, where prices start from just under £33,000. Expect new Peugeot e-3008 prices to start from upwards of £40,000. It will be available in two trims, Allure and GT.
There will also be more affordable self-charging hybrid and plug-in hybrid versions available later, as part of the new Peugeot 3008 range.
2024 Peugeot e-3008 styling
The new Peugeot e-3008 has a distinctive, stylish fastback SUV design that draws from the well-received new Peugeot 408 large car. Combining the assertive stance of an SUV with sleek coupe-like lines offers a fresh alternative to those seeking to buy or lease a cool new take on the regular family SUV.
The new Peugeot e-3008 remains a family-sized model, measuring 4.54 metres long, 1.89 metres wide and 1.64 metres tall. It has a slippery aerodynamic Cd drag coefficient of just 0.28, which will boost the electric range at motorway speeds.
Distinctive LED headlights feature smart LED running lights that seamlessly blend into the integrated body-colour grille of the new Peugeot e-3008. With the firm’s latest logo set within a premium-finish shield (and 3008 badging positioned above), it has a very modern and upmarket look.
Large 19-inch or 20-inch alloy wheels have a technical, geometric design, which themselves will stand out, while the new Peugeot e-3008’s shapely side profile is sportier than the current car.
At the rear, the new Peugeot e-3008 has a very eye-catching ‘floating’ rear spoiler. This is inspired by the firm’s acclaimed Quartz concept car. The angular rear shapes are bold, and set off by jewel-like LED rear lights with the Peugeot three-claw rear signature.
Even the six paint choices of the new Peugeot e-3008 are distinctive. The palette includes dichromatic Obsession Blue pictured here, which changes from blue to green according to the light and the shape of the bodywork. Other choices include Ingaro Blue, Okenite White, Nera Black, Cumulus Grey and Titane Grey.
2024 Peugeot e-3008 interior
Inside, the new bold design of the new Peugeot e-3008 continues. The ‘Panoramic i-Cockpit’ is the latest version of Peugeot’s distinctive compact steering wheel setup, which locates the instruments above it. The colourful display now comprises a huge 21-inch curved HD panoramic screen, with a touchscreen central display seamlessly integrated.
There is an additional touchscreen panel, called i-Toggles. These are customisable touch-sensitive buttons that can be programmed to access 10 favourite functions. The gear selector toggle has been relocated onto the dashboard, too.
The new Peugeot e-3008 has eight-colour ambient lighting, a redesigned steering wheel with touch-sensitive controls, and a high-tech Peugeot Air Quality System (AQS) for premium-level interior air quality.
Modern new materials feature within the new Peugeot e-3008, with contemporary textiles complemented by high-quality surfaces and smooth metal embellishments. The wraparound centre console gives the driver a cocooned, sporty feel behind the wheel, and there’s plenty of stowage space below.
The new Peugeot e-3008 promises to be, despite its fastback body style, just as practical as today’s car, thanks to the space-efficient new architecture it’s built on, which is called STLA Medium. It has a full five-seat interior and the 520-litre boot matches today’s car.
2024 Peugeot e-3008 motors, battery and range
The new Peugeot e-3008 offers a choice of three all-electric powertrains. Entry-level Standard Range produces 210ps, and there’s a 230ps Long Range and 320ps Dual Motor with all-wheel drive.
The new Peugeot e-3008 Standard Range has a 73kWh battery for an impressive range of 326 miles. Like all new Peugeot e-3008, it’s able to use speedy DC rapid charging at a rate of up to 160kW. 0-62mph performance takes 8.7 seconds.
The new Peugeot e-3008 Long Range has an even larger 98kWh battery. This large-capacity setup gives a headline EV range of up to 435 miles. With 230ps, it has a little more power, although the heavier battery means 0-62mph performance is a touch slower, at 8.9 seconds.
The fastest new Peugeot e-3008 is the 320ps Dual Motor range-topper. Instead of a single motor front-wheel drive setup, its additional rear motor gives all-wheel drive grip and electrifying 0-62mph performance in 6.4 seconds. It reverts to the 73kWh battery, for a range of up to 326 miles.
The new Peugeot e-3008 has a low centre of gravity, and the STLA Medium platform brings new front and rear axles for more dynamic handling. Naturally, there’s a broad range of driver assist technology too, which should help deliver a five-star Euro NCAP safety rating.
