Used SEAT Mii for sale: everything you need to know

The Seat Mii is a compact city car that packs in lots of practicality and is ideally suited to anyone in need of wheels for getting around town efficiently.

It’s been around for a good few years now, having emerged back in 2012 and in terms of looks is very similar to both the Volkswagen Up and Skoda Citigo.

Therefore, it comes as no surprise to find out that all three city cars share lots of components and, to all intents and purposes, are effectively the same thing with a different badge on.

However, one of the most appealing aspects of the Seat Mii is its cool, funky look, which is a bit more fun than those other cars. So, if you’re looking for a small city car with the emphasis on personality, the little Seat Mii could be an ideal used purchase.

Competition also includes the aforementioned Skoda Citigo and Volkswagen Up as they are basically variations on the same theme. Elsewhere, used options like the Peugeot 108, Citroen C1, Toyota Aygo and Hyundai i10 or Kia Picanto make good alternatives too.

Looking for an affordable used buy? There’s a huge amount of choice. Take a look at a Seat Mii for sale on heycar to discover just what’s on offer.

Should you buy a SEAT Mii?

A used Seat Mii could be an ideal option, especially if you’re looking for a first car that’s both practical and affordable. Equally, it’s great for shorter around town runs where ease of parking and economy are a bit part of the buying equation.

If you’re not too bothered about the badge and wish to sideline the VW Up, which is such a close relative, it makes a solid used purchase and you get pretty much all of the same stuff, just marketed differently.

That’s the other upside to the Seat Mii too, because this is a brand that has a little more fun running through its ethos, and some of the trim levels reflect this.

While the Skoda Citigo can probably be had used for less money, the Mii is cool to look at and drives impressively too, just as long as you don’t spend too much time on the motorway where its size and power shortcomings are more evident.

A SEAT Mii not for you? We've got 1000s of used cars for sale to suit all budgets and needs.

What’s the best used SEAT Mii model to buy?

There’s quite a few SEAT Mii models to choose from, but with only two engine options there isn’t much to think about there. The 60PS version is fine, but if you can get a 75PS model for similar money it makes life a little easier out of town. Skip the automatic gearbox if you can, as it suffers from yawning gearshifts that make it feel slower than it really is.

Skip the SEAT Mii in basic S trim as it is pretty short on equipment, and go for the Ecomotive or SE. Both have air con, remote locking and electric front windows as a minimum, while the SE gets some nice interior bits too. It’s also worth looking at the multitude of special editions that came out later in its life. Toca and I-TECH models get the touchscreen system as standard, while the SEAT Mii by Mango came in special colours and had fancy interior trim.

Used SEAT Mii fuel economy and performance

  • SEAT Mii 1.0L 60 petrol: The Seat Mii is offered with this less powerful 60hp engine, which means it might be economical but is quite slow. Expect a 0-60mph time of 14.4 seconds and a top speed of 99mph. It’s economical though with up to 64.2 mpg possible.
  • SEAT Mii 1.0L 75 petrol: The other option is the 75hp variant, which is a little more peppy and offers about the same economy-wise. As for speed, it’s slightly quicker with a 0-60mph time of 13.2 and a top speed of 106mph.

What used SEAT Mii trim levels are available?

The Seat Mii has been offered in several trims over the years but latterly this has been slimmed down so our pick of the used variants have to be the SE, the Design Mii, FR-Line and Mii by Cosmopolitan.

  • The Seat Mii SE is the most basic of the trim levels but it’s got enough to keep things appealing including air conditioning, radio, central locking and electric front windows.
  • The Seat Design Mii is a better bet with alloys and better lights giving it a touch of class. There are more trimmings inside too, with electric operated door mirrors, a leather steering wheel and the ability to connect your phone to the car using Bluetooth.
  • The Seat Mii FR-Line is a sportier variant, with alloys, sports suspension and some cosmetic touches that give it an performance feel, despite the same small engine.
  • The Seat Mii by Cosmopolitan is a model derived from a collaboration between the car maker and the magazine. Lookout for 15-inch alloys and distinctive purple or white paint, which gives the game away instantly.

Used SEAT Mii dimensions and boot size

The SEAT Mii’s dimensions are:

  • Length: 3557mm
  • Width: 1645mm
  • Height: 1478mm
  • Ground clearance: 144mm

The SEAT Mii’s boot size is:

  • 251-litres

Used SEAT Mii road tax

Road tax for latter day Seat Mii’s lands at £145, although earlier models older than 2017 have the privilege of being priced between zero and £20, so it might be worth weighing up your used car options.

How much is it to insure a SEAT Mii?

The Seat Mii has enjoyed a reputation for being very competitive to insure, with most cars falling into group 2E. Even the FR Line model with the more powerful engine is still only 4E. That makes it appealing to both new drivers and also more mature owners.
