New 2024 Peugeot e-5008

The new Peugeot e-5008 is an electric SUV with seven seats that aims to offer long-distance EV motoring along with passenger-friendly practicality.

The only 7-seater electric SUV in its segment, the new Peugeot e-5008 lines up alongside the sportier-looking new Peugeot e-3008 five-seater.

The new Peugeot e-5008 has a crisp-edged new look on the outside, and a futuristic interior that combines the latest technology with improved space for all three rows of seats.

While the new Peugeot e-5008 doesn’t have any direct rivals, five-seat competition is still plentiful, with models such as the Tesla Model Y, new Renault Scenic, Skoda Enyaq and, of course, the Peugeot e-3008 all vying for customers. The bold new Kia EV9 also offers seven seats.

The Mercedes-Benz EQB is a premium model that offers seven-seat practicality, albeit at higher price than the new Peugeot e-5008.

New 2024 Peugeot e-5008: price and release date

Ordering for the new Peugeot e-5008 will open in the autumn. Deliveries may begin before the end of the year, before starting in earnest in 2025.

Prices for the new Peugeot e-5008 have yet to be confirmed. The new Peugeot e-3008 starts from around £46,000, meaning it’s likely that new Peugeot e-5008 prices could start from under £50,000.

The new Peugeot e-5008 will be available with a choice of two trimi levels, Allure and GT. To keep things straightforward, there will be just three simplified option packs.

New 2024 Peugeot e-5008: interior and rear seating
The new Peugeot e-5008 has a roomy seven-seat interior with three rows of comfortable chairs – and the rear two rows fold fully flat for practicality.

New 2024 Peugeot e-5008: exterior and interior

The new Peugeot e-5008 has a modern, crisp-edged look that gives it a sleek appearance. The lines are more angular than the sporty Peugeot e-3008, particularly at the rear, as the focus here is on creating maximum space inside.

The new Peugeot e-5008 has a sophisticated grille that blends into the body colour. It has ultra-slim LED headlights on all versions – which have clever Pixel LED technology on GT models.

The new Peugeot e-5008 offers a choice of either 19-inch or 20-inch alloy wheels, and six colours – Obsession Blue, Ingaro Blue, Okenite White, Nera Black, Cumulus Grey and Titane Grey. GT models have a standard two-tone look with Diamond Black roof.

On the outside, the new Peugeot e-5008 doesn’t have any chrome trim. Instead, it has splashes of colour, such as Meteor Grey on the front spoiler and rear bumper, and Orbital Black on the door mirrors and lower beltline.

Inside, the new Peugeot e-5008 has an exciting Peugeot Panoramic i-Cockpit that features an incredible 21-inch curved display. This eye-catching system is freestanding and, thanks to ambient LED lighting underneath, appears to float.

There are new touch-sensitive controls on the new Peugeot e-5008’s steering wheel, while fully-customisable Peugeot i-Toggles on the centre console give instant access to 10 favourite user functions.

The new Peugeot e-5008, which measures 4.8 metres long, has an extended wheelbase that gives improved space inside. Middle row seat space is boosted over today’s car and third-row space sets a new benchmark, reckons Peugeot.

The rear seats fold flat, and the backrests recline, while access to the rear of the new Peugeot e-5008 is improved thanks to a clever new access system.

The new Peugeot e-5008 has a 259-litre boot with all seven seats occupied. Fold the third row of seats and it expands to 748 litres. With all rear seats folded, there is up to 1815 litres of space.

New 2024 Peugeot e-5008: range and performance

The new Peugeot e-5008 has a choice of three electric drivetrains. These are called Electric 210 Single Motor, Electric 230 Long Range Single Motor, and Electric 320 Dual Motor AWD.

The new Peugeot e-5008 Electric 210 Single Motor produces 210PS. It is paired with a 73kWh battery for a range of 311 miles. The Electric 230 Long Range Single Motor sees the battery grow to 98kWh, for a range of 410 miles. It has a little more power, too.

The range-topping new Peugeot e-5008 Electric 320 Dual Motor AWD blends the 73kWh battery with a 320PS all-wheel drive powertrain. It has a 311-mile range and is set to be very fast – performance figures will be revealed nearer to launch.

The new Peugeot e-5008 has rapid charge capability of up to 160kW, which will give a rapid DC charge from 20% to 80% in 30 minutes. Excellent aerodynamics should mean it is efficient at higher speeds.

The new Peugeot e-5008 also has an extensive suite of safety assist technology to keep occupants safe, while convenient items such as a reversing camera are fitted as standard.
