2025 Citroen C3 and e-C3: price, specs and release date

Citroen has opened orders for the hybrid version of the latest C3.

Launched last year, the new Citroen C3 is already available in electric e-C3 and pure-petrol form. The new Citroen C3 Hybrid combines a 1.2-litre petrol engine with a 48V hybrid system that, unlike some other similar mild-hybrid systems, allows electric-only driving at low speeds for short distances.

The C3 Hybrid promises a fuel economy of up to 56.5mpg according to official figures, compared to 52mpg in the standard petrol model. Rivals to the new car will include the likes of Renault Clio E-Tech and the Toyota Yaris.

The new Citroen C3 Hybrid starts starts at £20,115 for the Plus trim and £21,815 for the Max trim. In comparison, the electric e-C3 starts at £22,095, while the petrol-powered C3 starts at £18,305.

Visually, the Citroen C3 Hybrid is much the same as its petrol-powered and electric stablemates. Standard features include automatic LED headlights and LED daytime running lights, with 17-inch bi--tone alloy wheels. You also get a two-tone roof with interchangeable front and side colour clips that let you customise the look of your car.

Inside there are seats designed so much for comfort that Citroen has branded them as "Advanced Comfort", with hydraulic cushions to keep things plush. All models get a 10.25-inch central touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

The C3 Hybrid can travel on electric power for short distances.

The Citroen C3 Hybrid uses a 1.2-litre petrol engine with a 48V electrical system to add electric driving capabilities at low speeds. It's the same setup found in other cars from parent company Stellantis, including the Peugeot 208 and Vauxhall Corsa, although in the Citroen it has less power – 110PS, for a leisurely 0-62mph time of 10.1 seconds.

The C3 Hybrid emits 114g/km of CO2 according to official figures, which compares to 128kg/km for the 100PS petrol version.
