How many Honda NSX cars are available for sale?

The Honda NSX is one of the rarest supercars in the UK. Its high-tech hybrid powertrain gives it a huge turn of speed and it’s brilliant to drive. Honda only made small numbers of the Honda NSX available here between 2016 and 2022, ensuring it will always stand out from the crowd. Here, we’ll tell you everything you need to know about it.
The Honda NSX has a list of rivals, including the powerful Nissan GT-R, the brilliant Audi R8 and the fast BMW i8.
Despite its rarity, though, you can always find used examples of the Honda NSX for sale. Take a look at a Honda NSX for sale on heycar to discover just what’s on offer.
With its distinctive, angular styling, the Honda NSX really stands out from the supercar crowd. It’s got a huge presence on the road, too. Any driver who sees its angled headlights in their rear-view mirror will surely move out of the way.
Inside, it feels much the same as any other Honda: very well-made and user-friendly. It’s still stylish, though. The Honda NSX is pretty spacious for this kind of car, but there isn’t really anywhere to put your odds and ends. Still, you don't choose a supercar for practicality, but for the driving experience. And on that front, the Honda NSX scores big.
It has a hybrid powertrain with a twin-turbo petrol engine and no less than three electric motors. Together, these generate nearly 600PS, which is sent to all four wheels. So 0-62mph takes less than three seconds – immensely quick by any standard. It’s not just fast in a straight line, either. You can get down pretty much any road as fast as you like – within the bounds of the law, of course – and it’s an engaging experience.
The Honda NSX may not be one of the obvious choices for a mid-engined supercar, but there’s a lot going for it. It looks great, is easy to live with, is technically interesting and it goes like the clappers.
The hybrid powertrain means the Honda NSX is also one of the most fuel-efficient supercars, and you can drive it through town silently on battery power. It should live up to Honda’s reputation for building extremely reliable cars, while its rarity should ensure retained values are relatively strong.
A Honda NSX not for you? We've got 1000s of used cars for sale to suit all budgets and needs.
Honda only offered the hybrid-powered NSX in a single, very comprehensive model. You get a petrol 3.5 litre V6 engine and a trio of electric motors to deliver nigh-on 600PS, which gives 0-62mph in just 2.9 seconds. That's fast by any standards.
The cabin is decked out as you'd expect of a supercar, so there's a high-tech dash, leather on the seats, and plenty of equipment to tell you where all that money has been spent. It's also very made, which is typical of Honda, and easy to use.
You don’t have a choice of engine in the Honda NSX, but that doesn’t matter because the one it comes with is a bit of a monster. It’s a 3.5-litre V6 petrol engine with two turbochargers, mounted in the middle of the car behind the cabin. That would normally be enough on its own, but there’s also a hybrid system with three electric motors to provide more power and improve efficiency.
The Honda NSX comes in a single, nameless trim level, though there were a lot of options available, some of them grouped together into packs. A minor facelift was carried out in 2019.
The Honda NSX’s exterior dimensions are:
The Honda NSX’s boot space is:
If you buy a used Honda NSX that was registered before 1 April 2017, you'll pay road tax at a rate of £675 at the time of writing. For cars put on the road after this date, that drops to the standard £180, though cars up to six-years old will also be subject to the £390 surcharge for cars that cost more then £40,000 when new. None of this is likely to trouble anyone in the market for an NSX given the cost to buy one in the first place.
The Honda NSX will be expensive to insure, as it’s rated in the top-tier Group 50. Every supercar of this type is, though. You may be able to reduce your premium by increasing security, for instance by fitting a tracker, and by limiting your annual mileage.
